Summer Salad with Wösel Apple Cider Vinegar feeds 3–4 people.
This is an absolute ‘must have’ summer salad. In addition to the fact that it looks appetising, it is also very tasty. The combination of strawberries and mint leaves with orange-apple vinegar vinaigrette is very nice and worth experimenting with. The salad goes well with cheese or poultry, and why not also with a light summer wine.
For orange vinaigrette, you will need:
- 75 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 4 tbsp. Wösel Apple Cider Vinegar with Honey
- 6 tbsp. oil
- 2 tbsp. honey
- Salt
- Freshly crushed black pepper
If you don’t have a juicer at home, then fresh orange juice can be conveniently squeezed by cutting the orange in half and pressing a fork into the centre of half the orange. With one hand, swirl the fork and with the other squeeze the orange half. Juice flows out with ease. Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Mix the vinaigrette together in a separate bowl or jug and drizzle on the salad just before serving or when the salad has already been placed onto a plate.
For a fresh salad, you will need:
- 100 g lambs lettuce
- 2 handfuls of mint leaves
- 1 medium red onion
- 10–15 strawberries
- 10–15 grapes
- Half of the seeds from a pomegranate *watermelon and cucumber are also very well suited for this combination.
Transfer the lambs lettuce and mint leaves to a larger bowl, slice the onion into rings and add to the salad. Clean the pomegranate and separate the seeds from the shell, add half of the seeds to the salad. Slice strawberries and split grapes, place on the salad. Lightly mix the salad, make sure that the seeds and berries do not stick to the bottom. If necessary, place berries and pomegranate seeds on the salad to make the visual side of the summer salad even more appetising.
